Eggs, poultry, fruits and vegetables, honey About Us We are a small farm located just southeast of the Des Moines Metro in northern Warren County. We moved to our first farm about 10 years ago and to our present location in 2003. We have been building infrastructure, participating in local farmer markets, expanding our garden area, planting fruit trees, raspberries and blackberries. Approximately three years ago, at the urging of one of our egg customers, we acquired an egg handlers license and began selling our eggs to natural food markets in the area. Our name Novae Vitae Farm means the farm of new life. We are committed to natural, sustainable, and practical agriculture and believe you will recognize the quality and goodness in all our products. Our laying flock are free-range in the truest sense. They are able to forage throughout the day, weather permitting, doing what chickens were instended to do. We have had numerous customers tell us our eggs just taste better so that must be the secret. We have a herd of Dexter cows which we sell to others looking to start their own herd and allows us to offer high quality grass-fed beef. Additionally we keep a few colonies of bees which provide honey and pollination. We strive to serve as stewards of the land. We compost and use manure to fertilize our gardens, fruit crops, pastures, and hay ground. We believe in maintaining the health of our animals and believe that begins with diet which includes vitamin and mineral supplementation. We do not use hormones.
